Partial closures of the Villacher Alpenstraße due to general renovations

The Villach Alpine Road will undergo a general renovation in the next few years, which will be carried out in several sections. Part 1 of the rehabilitation work will start on 18th September 2023 and last until approx. mid-November 2023; it will take place in the area from km 13.30 (car park 6) to km 16.45 (final car park P11, Rosstratte). The work will mean that the Villach Alpine Road in this area can only be used by one lane at times and will be closed for days completely. On weekends (Saturday, Sunday) and public holidays, however, the road can be used as a two-lane road up to the final car park P11 (Rosstratte). The traffic obstructions in detail:

Remaining work will be carried out (road equipment, verges, etc.).
During this time, the road is at least passable in one lane up to P11.
